You can turn cash into a car by checking out the stocked inventory at your Topeka, Kansas area dealership, Laird Noller Topeka at 2245 S. Topeka Blvd. But how does an auto maker like Ford transform cash into cars? Shouldn't they be turning cars into cash? It's simpler than you think.
Ford already uses recycled materials like old clothing and plastics, implementing each into seats for the Ford Focus and floor mats in Fusion. It's part of an ongoing path towards having a fully reusable car. The company also extracts materials from flowers and grain into their plastics. Ford even uses soy-based material for foam inside seat cushions and head restraints.
This passion for recycled goods began 10 years ago, when the auto maker was investigating ways to cut the use of petroleum in components. To date, Ford has cut petroleum use by about 5 million lbs annually.
"With about 10,000 pounds of paper money being shredded per day, Ford is exploring adding it to a list of recyclable or reclaimed materials that includes soybeans, denim and plastic bottles," according to Auto Blog.1
Out-of-circulation, shredded US paper currency will be recycled for use as cushions, insulation and other components onboard future Ford EV cars. So one day you might literally be rolling in the dough.
